allegory of the urinal

His refrain from touching bathroom urinals was common sensical. Germs and diseases are a reality, he thought. But it was the contempt he held for the micro-bacteria that edged him towards aberration.

Occasionally he crossed the line, poking at the porcelain like a 7 year old does with a tree branch to his dead cat. It was eery and coarse, but the itching of a logic forced him to consistently breach the borders he developed.

Seven times that year he touched the porcelain urinal, and seven more times had he licked the envelope shut, instead of first licking his finger and sliding it across the glue. In July alone, he had brushed his teeth 7 times without first dropping the tooth brush into boiling water. On Sunday, August 7th, he forgot to run the dishes through the dishwasher after washing each plate and cup individually. Habits hold was losing grip, while disjuncture crept through the fragments of his incredulous thought.

In the disjuncture, he felt like Edna Pontellier where freedom became a menthol in 112 degree weather; a prize and poison, a transformation between grace and sin, bare-necked and scapular.

Only time, he thought, will tell.

In my formalistic fashion, I have created this blog in order to post my thoughts and ideas in a way in which my cultivated, but distructured, thinking can be organized.

godlovesugly describes brokenness and shattered souls. It is an attraction to the bitterness and despair that fills the soul of the human race. This attraction came from who knows where, but @ a time in history when pop-culture defines greed as the only quality that misrepresents ugly, I feel it necessary to describe this attraction to ugly that is found only in a overthinking putz like myself.

Ugly is not greed.

Ugly is avant garde. A break from the traditional, past the liberal, and associated only with the lowliest of the lowly. The misunderstood, the cracked and insecure, the creative, the writer, the dancer, the shadow that follows the idols and icons; It holds no place in boundaries and squares, no place in society, but is found everywhere.

Ugly is community.

Ugly is autonomy.

Ugly is the recognition that no man is an island.

Welcome to my blog in which I hope to convey my ugly in ways that describe my battle between the surface radical individualism and concsious human connectedness that surrounds my life.

If god loves ugly, god must love me.
